ThermoPro TP20 Wireless Remote Digital Cooking Food Meat Thermometer with Dual Probe for Smoker Gril
I have at least 6 types of digital thermometers. Always happy to add a new one to the collection. I use them for anything from Beer Brewing, Smoker Temperature, Brick Oven Temperature, Wine Fridge Temperature, Home Oven Cooking...
I tried out the ThermoPro TP20 - . over cooking Chicken on the Asado during the weekend. Whenever I get a new thermometer, the first thing I do is check them for calibration. I boiled a pot of water, and placed the probes inside to see they're heating to 100C/212F is accurate. in this case It was accurate, and it was a happy start. You will not believe the amount of uncalibrated Probes that I have, and you should constantly test them, as they can damage from many things, and then ruin your cooking altogether!
I got the fire started, and when the coals were ready, I placed one thermometer probe on the grill grids, to get the grill read, and another into the thickest chicken thigh.
I then programmed the ThermoPro probes. Probe 1 monitor the Oven/Grill temperature. Probe 2 to monitor the Chicken temperature with alarm when ready. The chicken was generously rubbed with MeatChurch Honey Hog, and MeatChurch Holy Cow, and came out of refrigeration when I started the fire. Totally time for grilling was almost one hour. The minimum I grill chicken thigh is 45 minutes in order to make sure that it is fully cooked.
I then, put the wireless unit clip on my belt, and went to finish the various weekend chores until the food would be ready. I have a two story house, and was happy to see the probes were in constant contact with the wireless unit and enabled me to see the fire was not too strong, and that the meat was cooking well.
Thanks to this thermometer, I was able to pull it out just in time for an amazing juicy chicken.
You can see the probes here as setup for the test.
Half way through, grill temp is nice and low (raise/lower grill to adjust)
Chicken is ready - Alarm Sound at 70C internal temperature.
See the probes setup. I got a nice and crispy finish of the chicken.
Looks amazing with them Potatoes!
